Margaret Hsu Stout

Ceramic Artist

Born in Taipei, Taiwan. Spring, 1970.

Studied 2 years of Commercial design in Ming Chuan College of Commerce before moving to Vancouver, B.C. with my whole family in the fall of 1987.

I applied for Emily Carr College of Art and Design in 1990 to think that I would be a graphic designer after I graduated. Just by chance that I took one ceramic course in the foundation year, and I fell in love with the clay, then never looked back. Graduated in the summer of 1994, I got a degree in Studio with a major in Ceramics.

Winter of 1995, with fellow artists, we started Red Hen Studios at 5th and Cambie in Vancouver. I made my dragons in my cozy studio whenever I could find time away from my web design job.

I Met my husband David Stout in 1997, soon got married in Jan. 1998 and moved to New Jersey, USA.

Since then, we got Jaymee and James, moved 6-7 times, and finally settled down in Indiana in 2002.

We got a house late 2005. With an extended garage, David got my kiln hooked up and I'm ready for business! It feels great. Now, I have pots for sale online and in store.

If you like my work, I'd love to hear from you.
