What did you do during Earth Hour 2008?
I know it is OLD news now…
But I’d really like to hear from all of you:
What did you do during the Earth Hour, 8 – 9 p.m., on March 29?
Even though turning the lights out for an hour might not amount to much Kilowatt, but it definitely worked as spreading the awareness of the importance of conserving energy. My sister, who always went yeah, yeah, yeah… every time I mentioning anything GREEN to her, actually said to me: “we should do this every month!” after the event.
My family and I turned out all the lights and electronics in the house. Kids took adventure of the last 30 minutes of sunlight to play soccer in the backyard with their dad, while I went around tidy up my garden a little bit to get ready for spring. After it got dark, we each held a candle in a used yogurt container (it was windy), and took a walk around the block. Then we came back home, sat around the candle light and told ghost stories until it’s time for the kids to go to bed.
It was fun. We really enjoyed the time just spending with the family without TV, computer, or any other distraction.
I promise my girl that we will do this once a month, the last Saturday of each month.
How about you? What did you do?
